Friday 17th October - walks **** – Felixstowe and Levington – cloudy with light winds.

Friday equals Maeva day, we thought we had a haircut booked for today so Mag walked around to pick her up with me walking to meet them in the leafy lane by the railway line off Mill lane, Sue the hairdresser then phoned to say she had made a mistake and we were booked in for next Friday which was not a problem! Maeva had a bit of a runny nose but that did not hold her back! While I had my breakfast we played a farm puzzle game we used to play with our boys 35 years ago and had great fun! I then made a picnic for three while Mag pottered in the garden with Maeva! We then drove over to Levington Marina for a picnic in the van, Maeva’s absolute favourite thing, sadly we had missed the tall ships from Holland that had been visiting Ipswich, that ship had sailed!!! We usually park by the windsurf launch area but they were working there and had blocked it off with a large pipe so we parked up at the far end of the marina which was just as good:) The tide was low and there were several birds feeding in the mud as Maeva sorted out our picnic boxes, removing everyone's chocolate bar for later! The picnic went well with Maeva turning the van interior light on and off several times as we watched a few yachts out on the River Orwell in light airs but sadly the the cloudy gloom continues! We then have a walk over to the loos before carrying onto Loompit Lake which is covered in swan and shovler ducks, plus coots and little grebes and had great fun kicking the masses of fallen leaves, the highlight was a kingfisher whizzed pass us, sadly I was the only one that saw it! Back to the van as Maeva wanted to go for a cuddle on the settee with Granny but she spent most of the time doing Postman Pat floor and singing along to 80’s hits on youtube, we were amazed she know the words to a Rick Ashley song!!!! Another top Friday, we love having Maeva for the day:)
